Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) are important considerations for any building, be it a large industrial building or your own home sweet home. Most especially for places that require special heating during chilly weather, specific heating methods such as ventless gas fireplaces, stoves, warm-air systems, hot-water systems, steam systems, the heat pump and other portable heating units are of huge importance.
A ventless gas fireplace is an innovation to the usual wood burning fireplaces. This type of indoor heating requires natural gas or propane fed through a direct line as the source of fuel instead of the customary fuels such as wood, coal or coke.
Stoves are also similar to fireplaces, the advantage of the stove over the fireplace is that it can provide more heat because the heated metal or ceramic surface of the stove is more in contact with the air in the room and delivers heat more effectively through convection.
The specific methods such as warm-air systems, hot-water systems, steam systems and the heat pump are all techniques of doing central heating. Central-heating systems make use a one centrally located heating unit to provide heat to several rooms or to an entire house. Furnaces are the usual heating units that produce the high temperature needed according to programmed thermostats, steam or hot water is the most common vehicle for distributing the heat.
Portable heating units include kerosene stoves and electrical heaters. These are ideal to bring added heat when one goes from one room to another.
